Care Services

We provide a large range of services from a 15-minute visit, once a week to 24-hour personal care and support.

  • Personal care includes assistance with bodily functions, feeding, bathing, toileting, dressing and grooming.
  • Practical support includes assistance with personal activities of daily living, such as shopping, cleaning, laundry and reminders to take medication.

Our homecare services are provided in consultation with all other parties involved, ie: family, friends, social services, health organisations, other care providers and of course the service user needs.

Once we have established the ‘Care Plan’ we further assess the home, in particular towards recommendations and actions on matters of health and safety, comfort aids and equipment. When we have the whole picture, we can then instigate care in the service users own home. The care content and level of delivery is continually monitored and adjusted to maximise independence and minimise the necessity for transference to residential care properties.

Sometimes it can be the little things that make the difference.

Personal Care

Our carers will visit the service user at the agreed time to assist with matters of personal care or practical support as has been assessed on the agreed ‘Care Plan’. This may include bathing or showering the service user, which can be quite distressing for anyone other than a trained professional, meal preparation and application of moisturisers or barrier creams. Every service user has unique needs and requirements and the ‘Care Plan’ and the services will be unique to each and every person.

Palliative Care

There are few tasks more emotionally trying than caring for the terminally ill. If performed professionally the impact of relief for the service user and family can be quite astonishing. We have a wealth of experience carrying out palliative care and truly can make a difference.

Medication Management

If the service user is able to take a prescribed medicine then we can be on hand to verbally prompt the timely consumption of a pre-measured dose. Our carers are not trained doctors or nurses and will not administer any drug or medication. However this is a useful service which can relieve the duties of other family members and carers for a respite period.

Wake Over/Sleep Over

Wake over and Sleep over duties place our carer overnight in the service users own home enabling them to settle the service user for the night and to assist with any difficulties that may occur throughout the night until morning.

The Pop In

This is a great way to let someone know you care and how important they are to you. A simple and short monitoring call to the service user just lets them know you are keeping an eye on them and that we will always be there for them. A longer visit could enable us to assist with a much needed toilet visit or maybe prepare a light meal.

Sit Ins

Once up and ready for the day, some service users may have arrangements in place for day care centres or similar activities. For those who do not, we can offer a sit-in service from one hour onwards, allowing respite to other family members or additional carers as well as social interaction directly with the service user.

Domestic Duties

Our care staff are just as able to perform light domestic duties similar to those they would normally do for themselves. They may be required to do some vacuuming and dusting, laundry of the bed linen, ironing and prepare midday meals. These services whilst not always regarded as essential, ensure the well being of the service user in their own home.
